Reed Track Circuits Replaced

DEG Signal has commenced design to replace jointless reed track circuits between Salisbury and Romsey. Originally installed when Salisbury was re-signalled in 1981; it is believed they may be the last reeds in jointless configuration on Network Rail infrastructure in England, as it is understood Scotland may also have some.

The new design will use Bombardier’s EBI Track 200 again in jointless mode which avoids any track alterations. This work is part of a package of designs that DEG Signal is undertaking for Network Rail Wessex route.
