Project: Farnham CET Depot Client: Faber Maunsell
DEG Signal Ltd produced a signalling study to determine the preferred method of operation for the depot. Upon arriving at the single option solution, DEG took the project forward to Approval-in-Principle producing the outline project specification and scheme plan. Additionally DEG Signal undertook a Signal Overrun Risk Assessment exercise on the finalised scheme plan layout. Once Approval In Principle had been obtained DEG produced the detailed design documentation, which included a new interlocking to control the depot area. For simplicity the interlocking design was based on the WR E10K standard. The existing signalling infrastructure in the Farnham area is a mixture of mechanical and relay interlocking, which required significant alterations to interface with the new depot signalling. The mechanical frame required an additional locking tray to accommodate the new interface locking. Following acceptance of the detailed design by Network Rail, DEG provided both installation support and design cover for the commissioning. The project enabled DEG to demonstrate its capabilities from project inception and development through to detailed design and commissioning. « Back to Portfolio Page |
