Project: Kent 12-Car Suburban Platform Extension Project Client: Mouchel ›› Download or Print this Case Study in PDF format The project objective was to investigate works for the design and upgrade of the infrastructure to allow 12-car units comprised of 2 x 4 class 465’s and 2 x 2 class 466 units to operate on the Dartford (via Sidcup and Bexleyheath), Sevenoaks and Hayes routes thus allowing significant increase in capacity for a part of the Kent Network which is currently operating at full capacity. The routes are expected to have a rising demand in commuter growth in the next twenty years and there is already a high level of latent demand. DEG
Signal Limited were commisioned by Mouchel on behalf of Network Rail to carry
out site investigation and correlation works to enable the production of
signalling GRIP4 deliverables for Approval-in-Principle. DEG produced
Signalling Scheme Plans, Final Project Specifications, Signalling Overrun Risk
Assessments, Outline Testing Strategies and Signal Sighting. DEG worked
in conjunction with other engineering disciplines to provide a complete engineering
