// New appointment
DEG Signal, the railway signalling design consultancy, announce a senior appointment, with Chris Chapman joining as Senior Signalling Engineer.
Chris brings over 30 years’ experience to DEG Signal having worked in signalling design, test, faulting, maintenance and technical support both in the UK and in New Zealand. Prior to joining, he was an independent consultant, working for Siemens on the Crossrail signalling interfaces with Network Rail.
Chris’ relationship with DEG Signal goes back two decades and includes numerous projects such as Wessex platform extensions and CAT-S checking of Surelock point conversions for London Underground’s Central Line. As an IRSE certified Signalling Principles Designer and Verifier, he will strengthen our signaling design function and is already working as a verifier on the Thameslink Resilience Project.
“After freelancing for many years, I’m looking forward to being part of a team at DEG Signal. In particular, one of the main attractions of being here is being given the chance to pass on my knowledge to Ben, James and Tom, the three DEG Signal apprentices.”
DEG Signal CEO Doug Green commented:
“We are pleased to welcome Chris to the team. Having known him personally since our BR days, it’s reassuring to know that we’ll have another trusted pair of hands to support our growth in our traditional activities and to exploit emerging opportunities.”
