On the Euston to Watford branch of the London Overground network, there is currently a mix of train protection systems between Harrow & Wealdstone and Queen’s Park shared by Network Rail (NR) and London Underground (LU) services; these are Train Protection Warning System (TPWS) and train stops. This project aims to remove the need for train borne trip cock equipment on London Overground trains which interfaces with the train stops by installing additional TPWS grids at signals that are currently only protected by train stops. This will allow London Overground trains to continue to operate over the same infrastructure without reliance on train stops.
Continuing on from our GRIP 3 work further design development will be undertaken to GRIP 4 including other disciplines. There are approximately 20 signals affected by these works with potential conductor rail changes due to TPWS grid fitment. We are pleased to be working with our partners from Amaro Signalling, Rail Power Solutions and RSK on this project.
